Hyundai Motor, South Korea¡¯s leading automaker, said Wednesday it sealed a deal with Hyundai Oto Komersial Indonesia to supply 500 units of the Xcient heavy truck.

The volume of the latest deal is Hyundai¡¯s biggest for trucks, the company said.

Hyundai Motor said it would aim to expand its presence in Indonesia¡¯s commercial vehicle market, which is currently monopolized by Japanese commercial vehicle brands.

As part of the efforts, the automaker plans to release a variety of models, including the Mighty truck.

The supplied Xcient trucks will be used for the construction of a landfill in Jakarta.

During the Jakarta motor show last month, Xcient was named the second most favorite commercial car by local customers due to its high quality, the company said.
